All awarded to Latino students!

The Hispanic Business Network Scholarship Fund started in 2019 to assist first-generation college students with their tuition/books.

The scholarships, usually in the range of $1,000 to $1,500, are awarded in any area of study to students who are residents of Illinois and are based on financial need. Any first-generation college student can apply for a scholarship for the first year of college and can submit for a renewal. The scholarship may be spent on tuition, books, technology fees, etc. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the school.

The decision is made by an external Scholarship Committee comprised of educators at different levels.

First-generation college students who are enrolled in a trade school or 2-4 year college or university that are maintaining a 3.5 GPA and have a financial need may apply. The committee scores the applications and makes a recommendation to the HBN Board of Directors. Scholarship funds are paid directly to the school.

They expect the scholars to remain connected with the HBN during their educational journey by volunteering with the HBN and participating in a quarterly check-in call. We assist them with career development and networking opportunities with potential employers as well.
